[Archived] Time for a new community playthrough?
@chrissie - I think “reader” is a catch-all term for most devices of this type. They are capable of burning stuff to blank cd/dvd disks as will as reading them. And, since I’ve had computers fail before, I also invested in an external HD reader. Makes recovering data a breeze. (I also have an external SSD for backups. The reader I’m referring to is when the PC crashes and I pull the old HD out of the case and slide it into the reader. Copy to the new PC’s HD with all the folders intact.)
For whom the games toll,
they toll for thee.
We still have until the 29th to pick up another player. But if that doesn’t happen, I’d be happy to play this anyway. But someone will have to lead the game. That doesn’t have to equate with LEADER. But someone needs to get us started, and set the start/stop points along the way.

No I didn’t see you voting for Still Life either Karlok. Another time though I would consider joining in with a playthrough of The Neverhood - graphically it never appealed to me but I’ve read such good reports!
I would love to join a playthrough of The Neverhood later this year, but right now it’s not convenient. Even if you don’t like claymation, the game is loads of fun, with great music, good puzzles, and even a story.

Me too. Like Still Life, I always wanted to play The Neverhood and a CPT would be The perfect ocasion.
Armikrog wasn’t as praised though, right?
Currently translating Strangeland into Spanish. Wish me luck, or send me money to my Paypal haha
I’ve only played Armikrog and thought it was great! If The Neverhood is even better then I’m really in for something special.
AKA Charo
The Neverhood is one of the best adventure games I have played.
Armikrog is not bad, either.
It could always be worse, remember that.

I’ll try to join in with Still Life if that would be chosen.

Tim, there really is no need for us to get wrapped up in terminology that no doubt varies from country to country! I’ve got one of those devices that you describe as a HD reader but it is marketed to me as a Sata Docking Station.
We have another player (sylv) and even though Advie’s vote doesn’t count, I count on him as a potential player when he is not banned anymore, so if Still Life wins, I will consider an official CPT legit and I volunteer myself to open a thread and lead in the terms rtrooney said.

Already 4 people interested in playing the Neverhood! Let’s decide now that we’ll do it after the Still Life playthrough. No voting, simply a spontaneous CP. I’m the only one who has played the game, so I will lead it, unless someone else wants the job.

I hope you will join us when the time comes?
@walas and Charo: Armikrog is not nearly as good as The Neverhood. That doesn’t mean it’s bad.

I would join an spontaneous CPT of The Neverhood after Still Life. Sign me in.

Thank you walas - excellent!
I’d love to join in with a playthrough of The Neverhood following that thinking it was available on Steam but just checking now it seems not, so that idea for me would have to be on hold.

I’m playing Woodruff right now, and I can’t promise I’ll jump into some future playthrough of The Neverhood. One of these days I’m planning to play another obscure gem (after I watch all the episodes of the series, to catch the references); The Neverhood may come after that, but even then I’d prefer to savour it on my own.
Then again if life had taught me anything that’s to never say never.
We’ll see when the time comes.
It could always be worse, remember that.

Voting for CP #74 will end at midnight GMT tonight.

The Neverhood (1) - Charophycean
The Procession to Calvary (1) - Charophycean
Syberia: The World Before (1) - Rtrooney

I don’t really rise and shine. I caffeinate and hope for the best.
I know we have a few hours to go, but I thought I should find the game. Which I did, but the box art gave me a scare. Right above the Still Life label is something that looks like III. I’m saying to myself, “OMG! I voted for the game and all I have is SL2 and SL3.” And SL3 is a known disaster.
Forget the III. If you see it on your box, it is the right game. I have not installed. But we’re only a few hours away from Lady K’s “Gentle People, Start Your Engines!”
